A little Sunday ritual

When I was in college and in the peak of my struggles with mental illness, I went to 9PM Sunday Mass every week at the Washington University Catholic Student Center. Some of you were there, participating in this small ritual that got me ready for the rest of the week. Some of you joined up for the after-party, whether it was getting hot chocolate at Ursa’s or piling into my car to watch Game of Thrones. The CSC, more than anything, was my home in St. Louis—more than the dorms, more than the art school, more than the pool. After college, I continued going to Mass for a time, and then I stopped. During Holy Week, however, I’ve missed this Sunday ritual. I’d like to propose a new one.

This Easter Sunday, I am offering a short Pranayama and Meditation at 11A EST on Instagram Live (@kayessgordon). It does require an Instagram account but, at the moment, it is easier than setting up a Zoom call, and this way you can drop in and out as convenient. I hope to offer some form of this every Sunday, and I hope you’ll join me.

I hope you are happy, healthy, and safe. Hope: what a word in these times, isn’t it? I love you all.

xo,
Kara
